REPORT TEXT. KAMIS, JANUARY 13th, 2022. KELAS IXA, IXB, IXC & IXD

  Assalaamu'alaikum warohmatullaahi wa barokaatuhu.

Selamat pagi anak- anak. Semoga kalian semua dalam keadaan sehat dan bahagia. Nah, hari ini kita akan melanjutkan pelajaran kita tentang teks report. Sebelum pelajaran kita mulai, mari kita berdo'a, memohon kepada Allah SWT agar kita semua selalu sehat, bahagia dan lancar dalam melakukan semua aktivitas. Memohon agar dimudahkan dalam memahami ilmu yang kita pelajari dan ilmu tersebut bermanfaat. Berdo'a, ....mulai. ------ Selesai. 

Pada kesempatan ini, ibu akan memberikan bacaan yang merupakan teks report. Tugas kalian adalah menjawab pertanyaan berdasar teks tersebut. Silakan disimak.

 Baca 2 teks yang ibu sediakan, jawab pertanyaannya. Kemudian pilih 2 partanyaan untuk dikerjakan beserta pembahasannya. Kirimkan jawaban lewat WA.

     Mud volcano is formed from mud ejected with gases and water from hot spring, geyser, etc.

      There are 7000 known mud volcanoes worldwide, and about 4000 of these are found in eastern Azerbaijan and the Caspian Sea. The rest are in Trinidad, Alaska and the Andaman Islands.

     The newest is in Sidoarjo, East Java. It is unusual because it is huge and according to Sam Rice, a Geologist from Cambridge University, it is probably between typical mud volcano and hydrothermal vent, with an unlikely high temperature of 60 degrees Celcius,   containing a high concentration of hydrogen sulfide gas that suggests there exist some kind of a volcano or hypothermal activity.

     Mud and gas accumulation is formed when sea sediment and sea water are trapped, when one tectonic plates slides under another continental plate. The gas erupts from a volcano or a crack in the earth’s crust because of oil drilling or an earthquake.

A landslide or a landslip is a geological phenomenon which includes a wide range of ground movement, such as a rock falls, deep failure of slopes and shallow debris flows, which can occur in off shore, coastal and on shore environments. Although the action of gravity in the primary driving force for a landslide to occur, there are other contributing factors affecting the original slope stability. Typically, pre conditional factors build up specific sub surface conditions that make the area/slope prone to failure, whereas the actual landslide often requires a trigger before being released.

Landslide occur when the stability of a slope changes from a stable to an unstable condition. A change in the stability of a slope can be caused by a number of factors, acting together or alone. Natural causes of landslides include; groundwater (pore water) pressure acting to destabilize the slope, loss or absence of vertical vegetative structure, soil nutrients and soil structure, erosion of the toe of a slope by rivers or ocean waves, weakening of a slope through saturation by snowmelt, glaciers melting, or heavy rain, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

Landslides are aggravated by human activities such as: deforestation, cultivation and construction which destabilize the already fragile slopes, vibrations from machinery or traffic, blasting, earthwork which alters the shapes of a slope, or which imposes new loads on an existing slope.

There are some type of landslide; debris flow, earth flow, debris avalanche and shallow landslide in which the sliding surface is located within the soil mantle or weathered bedrock ( typically) to depth from few decimetres to some metres.

Pada kesempatan ini, kita akan belajar tentang teks REPORT. Silakan kalian baca pengertian tentang report yang telah ibu berikan. Setelah itu, catat materi tersebut, difoto dan dikirim.

Report Text (The social function, generic structure, and language feature)

Hello ninth graders. Howdy? Hope everyone is great. Today we are going to learn about a report text. Are you ready?

Alright, before we start our talk about a report text, please look at the picture.

What picture is it? Yes, you’re correct. It is a cat. Apa yang kamu ketahui tentang kucing? Termasuk hewan apakah kucing itu? Di mana tempat hidupnya? Apa makanannya? Apa kebiasaannya? Apakah kamu penasaran ingin tahu lebih banyak tentang hewan satu ini? Jika iya, kalian bisa mendapatkan informasinya dengan membaca.

Nah, artikel tentang kucing yang kamu baca itu umumnya termasuk teks report. Tentu teks report tidak hanya memberikan informasi tentang hewan seperti kucing saja, tetapi bisa juga memberikan informasi tentang benda buatan manusia, benda dan fenomena alam maupun fenomena sosial. Yuk simak  penjelasan mengenai teks repot.

A. Social Function

Teks report bertujuan untuk mendeskripkan secara umum berdasarkan fakta hasil pengamatan/ riset dan analisis dari suatu obyek baik berupa makhluk hidup (misalnya manusia, hewan, dan tumbuhan), benda alam (misalnya, batu, sungai, bulan, gunung berapi) atau fenomena alam (misalnya, gempa, aurora, pelangi), fenomena sosial (misalnya, tradisi, budaya, adat istiadat), dan benda buatan manusia (misalnya, pesawat, sepeda, komputer)

The social function of a report text is to describe the way things are, with reference to arrange on natural, man-made, and social phenomenon.

B. Generic Structure

Struktur teks report terdiri dari tiga bagian sebagai berikut.

  1. Classification: Bagian ini berisi pernyataan umum tentang fenomena yang dideskripsikan, biasanya berupa definisi dan klasifikasi.
  2. Description: Bagian ini berisi fakta penting dari fenomena yang dideskripsikan. Jika hewan, fakta yang dideskripsikan meliputi ciri fisik, habitat, makanan, perilaku, siklus hidup, dan pergerakan. Jika benda, fakta yang dideskripsikan meliputi ciri fisik, bagian dan fungsinya, kegunaan, harga dan fitur. Jika berupa lokasi, fakta yang dideskripsikan adalah lokasi, populasi, sejarah, iklim, budaya, dan geografi.
  3. Conclusion: Bagian ini merupakan pilihan, artinya boleh ada atau boleh tidak ada. Bagian ini berisi kesimpulan atau komentar secara umum dari penulis mengenai fenomena yang dideskripsikan.

The generic structure of a report text consists of three parts.

  1. Classification: It is a general statement of the phenomenon being described, usually it consists of the definition and classification of the phenomenon.
  2. Description: It provides important facts about the phenomenon being described. If the phenomenon being described is an animal, the facts include appearance, habitat, food, behavior, life cycle, and movement. If it is an object, the facts include appearance, parts, uses, function, value, and feature. If it is a place, the facts include location,population, history, climate, culture, and geography.
  3. Conclusion: It is an optional part and it is the summary or comment of the writer about the phenomenon being described.

C. Language Feature

Unsur kebahasaan teks recount meliputi hal berikut.

  1. Present tense untuk mendeskripsikan fakta umum dari fenomena
  2. General noun untuk mendeskripsikan fenomena secara umum, misalnya bird
  3. Technical terms adalah istilah teknis, misalnya mammal, volcanic.
  4. Relating verbs adalah kata sifat yang digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan sifat dari fenomena, misalnya wild, big.
  5. Action Verbs adalah kata kerja yang digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan perilaku, misalnya fly, live, move.
  6. Topic sentence adalah kalaimat topik yang digunakan untuk mengembaangkan paragraf.

The language features of a report text include the following things.

  1. Present tense, mostly simple present tense
  2. General noun, e.g. birds, rivers, rainbow.
  3. Technical terms, e.g. amphibian, chemical.
  4. Relating verbs, e.g. solitary.
  5. Action Verbs, e.g. eat, erupt.
  6. A topic sentence in each paragraph

NARRATIVE TEXT. KAMIS, NOVEMBER 18th, 2021. KELAS IXA, IXB, IXC

Baiklah, sebelum pelajaran kita mulai, mari kita berdo'a, memohon kepada Allah SWT agar kita semua selalu sehat, bahagia dan lancar dalam melakukan semua aktivitas. Once upon a time, there was an old snake who was too weak to hunt for frogs. Then, he had an idea to trap the frogs.

He went to a pond full of frogs, and relaxed on the bank without any intention to hunt. At first the frogs ran away, but then they approached him. The frog king asked, “O Snake! Why don’t you hunt us as usual?”

The snake replied, “Last night, I bit a holy priest. He cursed me that from then on, I have to serve frogs. So, I lie here to give a ride on my back to any frog who needs service.”

Then, the king decided to take a ride. The snake rode him around the pond, and the king was very pleased. However, the next morning, when the king frog asked to ride on the snake back, he said, “I am too weak to crawl. I have not eaten for so long, and must eat something to be strong to give you a ride.”

The frog king decided that they must take turns to serve the snake; one frog each day to keep him strong. From then onwards, the snake gave ride to the frogs, and got to eat one frog every day. However, the king of frogs was too excited that he did not realize the frogs were rapidly decreasing. Finally, one day, the snake also ate the king and the entire frogs in the pond were gone.

Pembahasan: Soal ini mengukur kompetensi siswa dalam materi Unsur Kebahasaan untuk menentukan persamaan kata yang tepat. Level kognitif siswa pada level penalaran diuji karena siswa harus memahami teks terlebih dahulu, lalu mencari persamaan kata yang sesuai dengan makna dalam teks. Siswa harus dapat memahami maksud atau isi teks naratif yang disajikan, kemudian mengganti salah satu kata sehingga tidak mengubah makna. Kata serve paling tepat karena bermakna melayani dalam arti ‘memberi makan’. Maka jawaban yang benar adalah A

Maka jawaban yang benar adalah C. 

The king of the mice lived inside a banyan tree in a forest. One day, a poor man was cutting down some trees. As he strated to cut down the bayan tree, the king of the mice grew frightened "please, leave the standing " he said to the woodcutter, "and l'll give a piece of gold every day.

" The woodcutter a greed. So, every evening the king of the mice took out a piece of gold from under the roots of the tree and gave it to the woodcutter. The woodcutter took the pieces of gold home and showed them to his wife.

After a few days, his wife asked him, "where does the gold come from?, Don't worry about that, "he said, " just keep it.

" A few days later she asked him again, but he did not tell her. " if you don't tell me, " she said, " l'll go and tell the government or even the king that you're a robber. "

The woodcutter was frightened of his wife when she was angry. So he said, " every evening the king of the mice gives me a piece of gold from under the roots of the tree. ""Oh, you are stupid! ' his wife said. " you 've been tricked by a mouse. He gives you one piece of gold every evening but the rest of the gold is under the tree all the time! Why don't you cut down the tree and take it all away?'

The woodcutter did as he was told. He cut down the tree. But when he looked under the roits, the gold was not there. The king of the mice had run away too.

That night, the king of the mice crept up to the woodcutter's house and took back all the gold. So the woodcutter was as poor as before.  

3.   What can we learn from the story above?

A.  The greedy person would never satisfy himself

 Pembahasan: Soal ini mengukur kompetensi siswa dalam materi fungsi sosial untuk mencari pesan moral dari sebuah teks. Jika anda pahami isi teks dengan baik, kisah ini disampaikan untuk meberikan pesan bahwa orang yang serakah, rakus, selalu tidak puas dengan apa yang telah dia dapatkan. Maka jawaban yang benar adalah A.

            Pembahasan: Untuk menjawab soal ini, siswa harus membaca paragraph kelima dari teks. Jawaban dapat ditemukan pada kalimat berikut "Oh, you are stupid! ' his wife said. " you 've been tricked by a mouse. He gives you one piece of gold every evening but the rest of the gold is under the tree all the time! Why don't you cut down the tree and take it all away?'. Soal ini mengukur kompetensi siswa dalam materi struktur teks dengan mengidentifikasi sebuah rincian deskripsi dari teks. Maka jawaban yang benar adalah A.

 

Once upon a time, there lived a father with his two beautiful daughters in a village. His wife, the daughter’s mother, had already died. The father raised the daughters by himself. He loved them very much.

The father liked to go hunting. He often went to the forest to hunt deer, rabbit or many kinds of birds in the forest. But the two girls disliked it. They didn’t want their father killed those animals. The father tried hard to stop his hobby as the girls wanted.

One day, when the father went around the village. He met his friend. They talked many white birds which came to the lake. They said it was a good time to hunt the birds and asked the father to join the birds hunting. The father couldn’t help himself. He forgot his promise not to hunt anymore. The father went home to take his gun.

Knowing his father’s plan to go hunting, the eldest daughter said to her sister that she would wear long white clothes and go to the lake. She pretended to be a white bird so that the father would kill her and would stop hunting. When the eldest daughter went away wearing long white cloth, the younger daughter wearing the same clothes, followed her sister.

The two daughters ran away to the lake. The father who had already in the lake saw them. He thought that they were birds. He shot both of them. How shocked he was, when they cried in pain. He ran to them but it was too late both his daughters had already died. Since then, he never hunted animals  

5.  What would happen if the girls didn’t wear long white cloth?

        Pembahasan: Soal ini mengukur kompetensi siswa dalam materi struktur teks yaitu menentukan informasi rinci dalam teks tersebut dengan tepat. Jawaban pertanyaan bisa dilihat dari paragraph keempat. Jika saat itu putrinya tidak mengenakan baju putih, pasti tidak disangka burung dan tidak akan ditembak oleh ayahnya sendiri. Maka jawaban yang benar adalah A.

Little Red Riding Hood lived in a wood with her mother. One day Little Red Riding Hood went to visit her granny. She had a nice cake in her basket. On her way Little Red Riding Hood met a wolf. ‘Hello!’ said the wolf. ‘Where are you going?’ ‘I’m going to see my grandmother. She lives in a house behind those trees.’ The wolf ran to Granny’s house and ate Granny up. He got into Granny’s bed. A little later, Little Red Riding Hood reached the house. She looked at the wolf. ‘Granny, what big eyes you have!’ ‘All the better to see you with!’ said the wolf. ‘Granny, what big ears you have!’ ‘All the better to hear you with!’ said the wolf. ‘Granny, what a big nose you have!’ ‘All the better to smell you with!’ said the wolf. ‘Granny, what big teeth you have!’ ‘All the better to eat you with!’ shouted the wolf. Selamat pagi anak- anak. Bagaimana kabar kalian? Apakah semua sehat? Ibu berdo'a semoga kita semua senantiasa diberi kesehatan oleh Allah.

Baiklah. Sebelum kita memulai pelajaran hari ini, marilah kita berdo'a, memohon kepada Allah agar kita diberi kemudahan dalam setiap langkah dan kegiatan kita serta diberi kebarokahan. Berdo'a mulai .....

Selesai. Nah....Sekarang kita mulai pelajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk hari ini. Materi hari ini adalah tentang kata kerja bentuk lampau. Siapa masih ingat? Nah...di bawah ini akan ibu tuliskan sebuah cerita yang terjadi di masa lampau. Mari disimak bersama.

A long time ago, a man called Mr Lebai lived on a river bank in a vilage in West Sumatra. One day, he received two party invitations–one from a villager upstream and another one downstream. The two parties’ locations were far from each other. However, the parties were to take place exactly at the same time.

Not wanting to miss both parties, he started rowing his boat downstream for he knew that the food was very delicious. In the middle of his journey, he stopped. Mr Lebai remembered that the host of the upstream usually gave more food to the guests, so he turned his boat back and started to row upstream.

After rowing for several minutes, he stopped again. He remembered that the downstream host was a generous man. Mr Lebai thought that if he got there early, he would get a delicious buffalo head. He turned back to go to the downstream village.

However, when he got there, the party in the downstream village was over. He saw people walking home, bringing bags of food. Mr Lebai was disappointed. He quickly turned his boat again to head for the upstream village. He rowed as fast as he could. However, in the middle of the journey, he saw people walking bringing their bags of food, too. It meant the party in the upstream was over, also.

In the end, Mr Lebai went home empty-handed, disappointed, and exhausted. He was so unfortunate. Thereafter, he was nicknamed “Pak Lebai Malang” or “Poor Mr Lebai.”
